We can also arrange the inspection in order to obtain TR TS 010 and TR TS 012 Certificates. These certificates provides permission to operate your equipment at all industrial plants of the EAEU countries (Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan), including the hazardous industrial facilities. Our company is eager to assist in issuing Technical Passports for worm gearboxes as per Russian and other EAEU countries’ requirements.
Our engineering company ‘Intech GmbH’ LLC (ООО «Интех ГмбХ»), collaborates with several Russian design institutes in various industrial segments, which allows us to conduct preliminary design as well as subsequent design works according to the standards, construction rules and regulations that are applicable in Russia and other CIS countries. Worm gear speed reducers are named after a worm gear used in them. A worm is a screw that is a component in the gear. This type of speed reducers is widely applied. Its scope of application covers such areas as pumping equipment, various transportation equipment (such as conveyors, elevators etc.), drives, and machine tools for processing of metal, wood and other materials.
Worm speed reducers are implemented on the basis of a worm gear that, in its turn, consists of a gear wheel meshing with a worm, a screw with the special thread.
Worm speed reducers always operate as speed-reducing units, and they provide for a wide range and high precision of gear ratios. For a worm gear pair, gear ratios can be within the range of 1-100 (and even higher). Similar gear ratio can be provided by a triple cylindrical speed reducer; however, a worm mesh allows increasing smoothness of movement and decreasing of a noise level. One more advantage of worm speed reducers is their simple design and low cost.
Moreover, worm speed reducers demonstrate a unique function of self-braking, i.e. they are non-reversible: with the driving shaft completely stopped, the driven shaft cannot be rotated. This specific feature appears with gear ratios 35 and higher, or, more exactly, with the worm spiral line angle exceeding 3.5 degrees.
It should be noted that gear ratio rising results in reduction of efficiency due to higher friction between a worm and a gear wheel.
The dimensions of a drive are small (as compared with cylindrical units).
The average service life of worm drives is 10 thousand hours.
Worm gear
A worm gear consists of a screw with the thread on it and a helical gear wheel. The screw is denoted as the worm; as a result, this name is given to the gear and the speed reducer type. Rotational motion of a worm provides translational motion (along the screw axis) of thread turns meshed with the wheel teeth. Wheel teeth and screw turns are meshed along the line. In such a way, force is transmitted between the gear elements. Worm and wheel axes are perpendicular.
A speed reducer (a worm speed reducer) is a mechanism converting high angular speed of rotation of an input shaft into low speed at an output shaft. As a result, the torque at an output shaft grows in proportion to the rotation speed reduction.
A speed reducer (a worm speed reducer) consists of a casing with gear wheels, shafts, shaft bearings, related lubrication systems and other components in it. The casing provides safety, good lubrication and, as a result, high efficiency as compared with, for example, open gears.
Major characteristics of worm speed reducers
The major characteristics of speed reducers are the efficiency, input and output shaft rotation frequency, gear ratio, transmitted power, number of stages and gear type.
The gear ratio is the ratio between the input shaft rotation speed and the output shaft rotation speed.

Upon becoming the official distributer of worm gearboxes, our company ‘Intech GmbH’ LLC (ООО «Интех ГмбХ»), carries out the following: finds the buyers of your products on the market, conducts technical and commercial negotiations with the customers regarding the supplies of your equipment, concludes contracts. Should a bidding take place, we will collect and prepare all the documents required for the participation, conclude all the necessary contracts for the supply of your equipment, as well as register the goods (gearboxes) and conduct customs clearance procedures. We will also register a certificate of transaction (Passport of Deal) required for all foreign trade contracts in the foreign currency control department of the authorized Russian bank so that currency transaction could be effected. If required, our company will implement an equipment spacing project in order to integrate your equipment into the existing or newly built production plant.
